Paul caught 54 Roach on single maggot fishing the long whip to hand in his 17ft deep swim, two balls of ground bait to kick the swim off and a very small squeeze of ground bait with just a couple of maggots every other trot through saw him come out on top on the day. River Ouse at Overton 19/06/2021

On a very low and clear river with conditions not ideal for Bream fishing this was going to be a case of scratching a few fish out and that’s what happened today. Winner of the match and through to this years final was Steve Raper with 9 Skimmers and a Bream to weigh 22lb – 00oz from zone 2 where the ground bait feeder to mid river combined with various hook baits kept those fish coming (well done Steve). Second in the match and winner of zone 1 was Ricky Matthews from peg 1 with 18lb – 12oz (two good Bream and a couple of Skimmers) and making up the 3 qualifiers was Kevin Weighell from end peg 29 in zone 3 with a weight of 11lb – 01oz.
