The two zone opener proved to be a little tough for the 24 anglers taking part with very hot weather leading up to the match and bright conditions on the day, with Bream expected to decide the outcome most anglers opted for a feeder approach. Winner on the day and first into the final was Pat Adams from end peg 24 in B zone with 16lb-06oz consisting of a couple of decent Bream backed up with some skimmers, runners up spot going to Ricky Matthews with 14lb-02oz from peg 19 (zone B) consisting of 5 Bream, Glyn Brown was the other qualifier winning zone A with 8lb-09oz his catch consisting of a couple of skimmers and a few Perch.

Unlucky with the conditions on this one as the river was at the lowest seen for a long time, gin clear and bright sunshine giving the anglers taking part very little chance of catching the big weights normally associated with this section of the river. We did however have two more anglers through to the final and making the most of one of the popular early season pegs in B zone was Lee Furness who managed to extract 3 Chub and 2 Barbel for a weight of 35lb-06oz to win the match, Lee caught all his fish on the bomb and meat with the exception of one Chub on the float. Second angler into the final was Mark Allison bagging 3 Chub for 12lb-04oz on the waggler and caster from his very shallow peg in A zone.

First on that list and winner of todays qualifier was Tony Hatto with a weight of 24lb-07oz from zone 3 on the sand bed (peg 50), Tony had a good first couple of hours catching Bream and Skimmers on the feeder using worm and maggot hook bait. River Tyne 30/07/2022
Yet another very low river but this time a release of water from the Kielder helped a few out as the flow increased and a few Dace were to be had. Top man on the day and into the final was Paul Jackson with a fantastic weight of 21lb-10oz waggler caught dace on the maggot from the Bywell road section in zone 3. River Tees Bowesfield 06/08/2022
At last some decent weights were the order of the day with plenty of Bream and Skimmers to be had along the whole match length even though the sun was still shining bright and it was baking hot! Leading the way from peg 54 in zone B was Phillip Noble with a fantastic weight of 40lb-08oz of Bream and Skimmers falling to ground bait and feeder tactics, Alan Le Patourel took the honors in zone A with a bag or Skimmers weighing 35lb-09oz from peg 1. Second through to the final was another local angler Graham Hall with 9lb-13oz
River Swale Helperby 17/09/2022
This one was a low weight affair with none of the resident Chub and Barbel willing to feed which had most baffled as plenty were being caught leading up to the match, still we have 3 more anglers into the final with Chris Gowling, Michael Kilpatrick and John Cosgrove all qualifying with weights of less than 6lb
River Don (in leu of the Mersey) 24/09/2022
First of all we apologise for the quality of the photo and a bit like said photo the fishing was down on what was expected with only one section throwing up some reasonable weights, still we have our 3 qualifiers and from left to right these are Kevin Vickers winning zone B with a weight of 8lb-08oz from peg 66, then winner of the match Graham Jones with a Skimmer weight of 12lb-03oz from peg 44 just above the bridge in zone A, and finally through from zone C fishing from peg 71 was Craig Lealand with a weight 4lb-12oz
