First qualifier of the season and a match record is set!
Winner on the day was Chris Hunter (pictured left) who smashed said record for the Swale at Northallerton with a colossal weight of 189lb-00oz from peg 29 in zone B, his catch comprising of 43 Chub one Barbel and one Graying, Chris caught from the off utilising the loafer float and maggot for a match to remember for sure! Our other qualifier in this 24 peg match was the ever consistent Graham Hall with a weight of 24lb-13oz from peg 3 in zone A.

A tough match this one and in fact according to the the organisers the worst match returns in 30 years! but we still have our qualifiers and the winner of this one was Paul Kozyra (pictured second from the left) whose winning weight of 10lb-10oz from Zone A was enough to put him in the final and consisted of 31 small Chub and a couple of Roach for the only double figure catch on the day. Zone B qualifier was Jeff Herbert (pictured 3rd from left) with a couple of large Chub weighing 9lb-4oz, Steve Knowles (pictured far right) won Zone C with the only net of Dace on the day and they went 8lb exactly so well done to him for finding a few, and finally winning Zone D was Nigel Collis (pictured far left) with 4lb-4oz
River Tees Yarm 13/07/2024
Some good weights on this one with Ken Golightly leading the way with a weight of 39lb-05oz of Skimmers and Bream on the short line feeder from peg 184 in zone C to win the match and qualify for this year’s final, Paul Stainsby won zone B from peg 171 with a weight of 19lb-14oz and final angler through winning zone A with a weight of 23lb-05oz from peg 171 was Craig Hutchinson
River Ouse Below York 20/07/2024
A decent match considering the blazing hot sunny conditions, all three qualifiers adopted similar tactics with the ground bait feeder and chopped worm dominating. Zone A winner was Eddie Bridon booking his place in the final with his catch of Skimmers and Bream from peg 12 putting 12lb-12oz on the scales, Zone B qualifier was Keith Harrison with a weight of 17lb-07oz from peg 60 and finally match winner David Oliver bagging 17lb-10oz from his draw on peg 66 to take Zone C.

A tough Match this one with a low clear river and bright conditions making catching a few fish difficult, we do have our qualifiers all the same and those through to the final in this one From left to right in the photo) are Nick Chaffer from noted peg 55 in zone B with a weight of 9lb-00oz Dave Pollitt with a match winning weight of 16lb-09oz from peg 4 in zone A and finally Chris Dennis whose weight of 9lb-08oz was enough to see him take zone C from peg 77

This one was all about small fish on the whip or pole and our two qualifiers adopted those tactics along with a little ground bait and the trusty maggot to book their place in this years final. Match winner was local angler Paul Lightfoot (pictured on the left) with a weight of 7lb-01oz to win zone B from peg number 40. Our other qualifier was Craig Hirst winning zone A off peg 1 with a weight of 4lb-13oz.

This one all went to plan for Dave Smiddy (pictured center) fishing the ground bait feeder he caught Skimmers and Bream to win the match and book his place in this seasons final with a weight of 17lb-14oz from peg 88 in zone C….Tony Marshall pictured left won zone B with a weight of 12lb-13oz from peg 71 in zone B and finally Kevin Weighell won zone A off peg 48 with 16lb-02oz

Chris Greensides won this match quite comfortably with a hemp attack on the long Pole from peg 146 in zone B with a weight of 18lb-14oz Ricky Matthews was the other qualifier winning zone A with a weight of 8lb-10oz from peg 135

A proper match this one with only 1oz between the top 3 anglers, making it into the final are joint winners Ian Kirton and Matty Prudhoe who both weighed 7lb-13oz to qualify from zone A. Zone B winner was Andy Bowes whose 7lb-12oz was enough to see him through.

A Chub dominated match this one with two local anglers making it through to the final, with the fancied pegs in zone 1 not producing the expected big weights match winner Lawrence Ireland (Zone A) made no mistakes from his draw on one of the new pegs cut out for this season taking 5 Chub for 15lb-14oz. Zone B qualifier was Pat Adams who managed 4 Chub for a weight of 12lb-04oz
River Swale Helperby 14/09/2024
The expected big weights failed to materialise on this one and on an out of sorts river Chris Gowling took the honours in Zone A from the famous “Clarkies Glide” peg with just 9lb-10oz. Joining him in the final is regular Swale angler Dave Moss who bagged 3 decent Chub for a weight of 9lb-12oz from peg 62 in Zone B
River Ouse below York 28/09/2024
Adam Richards (pictured center) did the business from one of the fancied pegs below the Palace, his catch of 24lb-12oz all taken on the pole feeder was enough to win the match and put him in this years final, joining him was match runner up Neil Stanhope (pictured right) who managed 21lb-14oz to win zone A. Pete Kitwood won zone C with a weight of 12lb-04oz.
River Ure at Boroughbridge 12/10/2024
Following a flush of cold water and dropping temperatures this on turned into a little bit of a lottery with only a few anglers managing to put anything on the scales, however as always we do have our qualifiers and those that did manage a bite or two reaped their reward, pictured from left to right are Mark Allison who found a few Chub in zone B to weigh 15lb-02oz. Darrell Taylor won the match from zone C with his Chub catch going 15lb-08oz and Dave Bramley winning zone A with a weight of 6lb-15oz

Yet again the Roach have dominated this one with the winner Richard Pulford (pictured left) taking the match with a fantastic 40lb-12oz all caught on the whip and pole from his peg two below the Shipyard bridge, joining him in the final is Andy Annat with a zone winning weight of 19lb-06oz.

Our fist ever midweek qualifier and this 48 peg sell out didn’t disappoint, winner on the day and into the final was Carl Chadwick (pictured far right) with a weight of 21lb-14oz from peg 16 in zone D at Woodnook, after finishing runner up in the previous qualifier Stuart Tate (pictured left) made no mistake this time winning zone B from peg 29 with a weight of 10lb-06oz, previous competition winner Nick Crookes makes the final again with his weight of 8lb-14oz consisting of small Roach from zone C peg 47 and finally zone A winner was Dave Topham with a weight of 14lb-10oz

With a weight of 12lb-03oz Nigel Hirst (pictured left) books his place in the final and joining him is another past winner, Ian Exley loves this venue as he constantly qualifies from it, this time his all Roach catch weighing 7lb-03oz was just enough to see him through!
