Rules

Qualifying for the final

All qualifiers will be made up of 12 peg or 13 peg sections giving matches of 24/26 , 36/39, 48/52, 60/65 pegs (subject to ticket sales).

In the event of angler numbers on a qualifier being less than 24, 36, 48 then the number of qualifying anglers will be subject to the following:

  • 26 anglers or less will result in two zones and the winners of these two zones will qualify for the final.
  • 27 to 39 anglers will result in three zones and the winners of these three zones will qualify for the final.
  • 40 to 52 anglers will result in four zones and the winners of these zones will qualify for the final.
  • In the event of any unlikely error in booking numbers (over subscribed etc.) then we may need to insert an extra angler into a section possibly giving 13 or 14 in one or more sections on the day.
  • Should a finalist be unable to attend the grand final then that place will be offered to the angler who finished runner up (and only the runner up) in the qualifying zone of said finalist, should the runner up not be able to attend either then the final will be contested without a replacement angler.

All qualifiers will be from as near equal sections as is possible on the day of the match and at the match organisers discretion.

In the event of a tie on weight for qualification then both anglers will go forward to the final.

No Shows

Due to the disruption that anglers not turning up for qualifiers causes then it was decided at a meeting between officials and match organisers that in the event of any angler not turning up to register at the draw on the day of the qualifier without prior notice then said angler will be suspended from all qualifiers for 12 months from the date of the NO SHOW.

We know breakdowns and other mitigating circumstances do happen so a text, phone call or email 15 minutes before the draw to the match organisers or to a Northern River Masters official will sufficient to avoid such action.
