1. River Tyne

48 PEGS

Qualifier Date: 22/06/2025

Leaving the giant Kielder reservoir and emptying into the sea at Tynemouth, the Tyne around Corbridge offers some of the country’s finest dace fishing, with winning nets often exceeding forty pounds or more.

The July match will be very exciting and depending on river levels, a number of methods can come into play. Pole or whip used in conjunction with a couple of kilos of groundbait can work well. When the river is lower, waggler and stick take over with loose fed caster often the bait of choice.

Depths vary from glides of a couple of feet to deeper pools of eight or ten feet.
